Ski bunnies become waste warriors

Mt Hutt Ski Area staff (pictured) transformed from ski bunnies into waste warriors in Methven yesterday.

More than 100 staff made the most of the skifield being closed due to wind, diverting their attentions to giving back to their community.

They got involved with Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week on its last day, and groups spread out through the town, picking up litter and gardening at local schools, sporting areas, walkways, parks, the town cemetery and Methven House.

The morning’s work wrapped up with a sausage sizzle at the Mt Hutt town office.
