Heinrich Lanz, after whom the Lanz company was named, was born on March 9, 1838, and died on September 1, 1905. From small beginnings in 1860 with two employees, engineering and the production of farm machinery was his life’s work.
The Lanz company was formed in Mannheim, Germany, in 1912. Franz Huber designed the Lanz tractor in 1921, but it was June 1929 before the first Lanz tractor appeared in New Zealand.
