Carrfields' global machinery moves
Three family businesses - two from Germany and Carrfields from Ashburton - have joined forces to supply farmers in Canterbury with innovative and reliable machinery.
Carrfields’ managing director Craig Carr was thrilled to announcetheir new machinery partners Krone and HORSCH at a launch in Ashburton on Friday.
The family-owned Krone company found Carrfields after parting ways with its previous dealer in Canterbury.
“That’s when we started to investigate who would best represent Krone in the region,’’ said Krone marketing and business development Ian Massicks, explaining that Carrfields now had Canterbury distribution rights for the harvest machinery
manufacturer.
“Talking with Greg and Craig [Carr], it’s been amazing actually.
They’re an incredible company.”
Horsch territory manager Micha Trotzky was also at the customer event to formally recognise their partnership with Carrfields.
Carrfields is the sole importer of HORSCH in New Zealand, and Trotzky said that was due to their business model.
“It’s a family business, run by a farming family.
“We can see similarities in how the business is carried out, like looking at things from a farmer’s perspective, and understanding what brings benefit to
the farmer.”
New machinery isn’t the only addition to Carrfields because it’s
recently expanded its South Island reach with a branch in Gore.
It has also taken back a dealership in Templeton, outside of
Christchurch.
“It’s just really, again, to cement our service offering,” Greg Carr said.
“Everything we’re thinking about is about how we create more efficiency productivity on farms for our farmer clients.’’
